Overview
This education activity brings together physicians and medical providers to educate providers about epilepsy, including the diagnosis and treatment of seizures, managing co-morbidities of patients with seizure disorders, and updates on the newest research in the field of epilepsy.

Objectives
  1. Differentiate epileptic from nonepileptic events in children and adults.
  2. Summarize indications, uses, and common side effects of new antiseizure medications.
  3. Apply evidence based strategies for seizure management in emergency settings.
  4. Identify essential components and appropriate candidates for seizure action plans.
  5. Recommend sleep habits and medical treatments to improve sleep in people with epilepsy.
  6. Demonstrate correct EEG electrode placement and recognize normal and abnormal brain wave patterns
  7. Evaluate devices available for seizure monitoring and detection.
  8. Compare current treatment options for ADDADHD in people with epilepsy and explain the importance of diagnosis and management.
  9. Interpret current guidelines for genetic testing in epilepsy and assess treatment options for genetic epilepsies.
  10. Collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams to develop and implement comprehensive epilepsy care plans.
