This dynamic and interactive 3-day conference will equip Otolaryngologists, Primary Care Providers, Sleep Specialists, and other healthcare providers with the most current clinical information, technological advances, innovative approaches, and recent guidelines to support the optimal care of patients presenting with sleep disorders and ear, nose, and throat conditions. Day One is a 4-hour afternoon/evening program focused on various aspects of obstructive sleep apnea, medical and surgical weight loss therapies, utilization of dental devices and other aspects of treating OSA and CPAP-intolerant patients. Participants will attend a working dinner and will select 2 of 4 relevant topic sessions. The day will end with a cadaver prosection demonstration of hypoglossal nerve stimulation.

Day Two offers a comprehensive exploration of sinus center best practices. The morning session will focus on practical office-based approaches to sinus disease management and sinus surgery. Other topics to be explored include endoscopic Denker’s approach for tumors of the anterior maxilla, the effect of sinus surgery on the voice, frontal drill-out with obliteration, middle turbinate management, and pediatric sinus surgery. Following a working lunch, the program will update attendees on multiple aspects of Eustachian Tube (ET) anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology of ET dysfunction, and indications and results of ET techniques. An optional hands-on cadaver workshop will enhance skills in ET balloon dilation and other procedures.Day Three is designed to meet the ENT needs of the Primary Care Provider. The program agenda is divided into four sessions - Ears, Nose/Sinus, Mouth/Throat, and Neck – with each session offering an in-depth review of the most important issues facing PCPs. A working lunch encourages interaction among participants and faculty and an afternoon Skills Lab presents a final opportunity for attendees to practice the application of acquired knowledge in an educational setting.

Objectives
  1. Evaluate treatments and diagnostic modalities that can be used for patients suffering with sinusitis and other nasal disorders to improve their quality of life
  2. Describe key points in endoscopic sinus surgery in the management of pediatric and adult sinus conditions
  3. Apply current methods for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with Eustachian Tube disorders
  4. Evaluate techniques and methods for managing tumors of the anterior maxilla to maximize outcomes and minimize complications and side effects
  5. Discuss new technologies, instrumentation, and techniques available to improve the treatment of patients with sinus disorders, including those requiring functional nasal airway reconstruction
  6. Identify medical and surgical approaches for the adult patient population based on the relationship between sleep apnea and weight
  7. Effectively manage obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), including utilization of dental devices to minimize the risk of developing CVD for certain patients
  8. Recognize when to refer a patient to an ENT specialist and be able to counsel patients regarding possible treatment options the specialist might recommend
  9. Determine appropriate assessment and management strategies for patients seeking treatment for clinical ear conditions
  10. Participate in ear, nose, and throat skills labs to enhance performance in practice
