Overview
Movement disorders are a complex and multifaceted group of illnesses resulting from nerve cell degeneration in the brain. Symptoms includes involuntary movements, muscle rigidity, slowness, changes in speech and gait. To help address this need, our expert faculty will discuss challenges and opportunities for clinicians and healthcare professionals managing patients with different types of movement disorders, including current and emerging medical and surgical advances that can be implemented to slow disease progression and improve patients’ quality of life.

Objectives

  2. Assess available therapies available for the management of motor and nonmotor symptoms of Parkinson's Disease, Dystonia, Tremor, and other movement disorders
  3. Describe the indications for deep brain stimulation surgery of Parkinson's Disease, Dystonia, and Tremor.
  4. Evaluate ongoing and emerging research in Movement Disorders and the implications for emerging therapeutic options
  5. Guide patients and caregivers in making key treatment decisions in different movement disorders
