Overview

We are thrilled to invite you to the F. Widjaja Inflammatory Bowel Disease Institute IBD Women's Health Conference, a comprehensive Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference focused on the unique challenges faced by women with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). This conference is designed for clinicians and patients alike, offering expert insights into key topics such as fertility, pregnancy, nutrition, and mental health in women with IBD.


Objectives
  1. Identify risk factors and strategies for prevention of the development of IBD
  2. Evaluate the impact of dietary choices on the gut microbiome and IBD progression in women
  3. Integrate dietary recommendations into clinical practice to optimize symptom management and remission maintenance
  4. Assess the impact of IBD on fertility, pregnancy outcomes, and neonatal health
  5. Develop personalized management plan for women with IBD before, during, and after pregnancy to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.
  6. Recognize the psychological burden of IBD in women, including anxiety, depression and body image concerns
  7. Incorporate mental health screening and multidisciplinary interventions to improve overall wellbeing and disease management.
  8. Understand the unique challenges faced by adolescent girls with IBD
  9. Address the psychosocial and educational impacts of IBD on adolescent patients, ensuring ageappropriate care and support strategies.
  10. Enhance collaboration among physicians, dieticians and advanced practitioners to optimize pregnancy outcomes from a nutrition and clinical standpoint
  11. Implement team based strategies to educate, monitor, and support pregnant patients with IBD including medication safety, nutritional counseling, and management of disease flares.

AMA Credit Designation Statement
