Smidt Heart Institute Department of Cardiology Grand Rounds is a weekly series that is designed to provide cardiologists in attendance with knowledge on important clinical topics and clinically relevant research in cardiovascular disease.

Objective(s): 1 Apply current practice guidelines and consider clinically relevant research in the treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease. 2 Address relevant patient care issues in the basic areas of cardiovascular medicine and design personalized treatment strategies for patients with cardiac conditions. 3 Describe the latest advances and areas of controversy in the fi eld of cardiovascular medicine and research.
