Overview
The 2026 APP at the Heart of Change: Evolving Cardiovascular Care Symposium will provide basic and advanced knowledge of various guideline-based medical therapies in the management and care coordination of patients with cardiovascular illness and disorders. The latest guidelines and therapies will emphasize competency based practice towards excellence in clinical skills, value-based, patient-centered, and deliver culturally competent care. Each section will enable opportunities to acquire skills required to use and monitor advanced noninvasive cardiovascular devices and promote the translation of AHP-led care delivery models and best practices in cardiovascular team practice settings. The symposium will integrate principles of population health management in primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular illnesses and related comorbidities.

Objectives
  1. Review advanced EKG patterns and apply key interpretation pearls to improve clinical decision making and patient care
  2. Review the latest advances in cardiovascular health management for women
  3. Describe current best practices in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac amyloidosis
  4. Summarize emerging research and clinical updates in transcatheter tricuspid and mitral valve replacement technologies
  5. Examine diagnostic capabilities of consumer wearables, innovations in cardiac implantable electronic devices, and upcoming developments in atrial fibrillation ablation
  6. Evaluate the evidence supporting GLP1 receptor agonists and apply appropriate patient selection, prescribing considerations, and monitoring strategies to reduce cardiometabolic risk
  7. Discuss the complexities of congenital heart disease in adult patients
  8. Explore vascular diseases with a focus on emerging risk factors, evolving diagnostic tools, and contemporary treatment approaches
  9. Review current strategies for managing pulmonary hypertension and understand its clinical impact
  10. Highlight APP led care models that are transforming cardiovascular healthcare delivery
  11. Collaborate across disciplines to apply evidence based cardiovascular care, coordinate complex pathways, and optimize patient centered outcomes.
