The 16th Annual Symposium on Current Concepts in Spinal Disorders focuses on treatment methodology, controversies in spine care management, and new and emerging technologies. The faculty is comprised of internationally recognized experts who will present lectures focused on innovations in spine surgeries, spine sciences including biologics, stem cells, minimally invasive surgeries, motion preservation, complications, controversies, and deformities. Participants will have several opportunities to hold personal interactions with many of our countries leading spine professionals. All attendees are encouraged to join faculty for discussions and debates regarding all topics.

Objectives
Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify vulnerable areas in spine care and develop strategies to treat patients that include the many complex factors impacting safety and efficacy.
  2. Discuss the implications of MACRA and the preparation needed to be successful in a quality-driven, valuebased healthcare system
  3. Compare opposing approaches to common spine controversies, including spondylolisthesis sagittal alignment for single level lumbar fusion and thoracolumbar scoliosis with sagittal imbalance
  4. Recognize the risk factors associated with spinal surgeries, particularly for patients with co-morbidities, and apply evidenced-based clinical decision marking when determining the appropriateness of surgery
  5. Describe pertinent options for correction of spinal deformities to prevent significant functional and/or neurological impairment in the adult patient
  6. Discuss the science supporting the use of lumbar hybrid constructs and other motion preservation technologies available and the benefits and pitfalls of each
