This interactive one-day conference with didactics and hands-on laboratory will equip general surgeons with the most current clinical information, technological advances, innovative approaches, and recent guidelines, to support optimal care for patients presenting with cholecystitis and choledocholithasis.

Lectures from 7AM-noon, will cover:

• Performing and interpreting the difficult cholangiogram,
• The selection of patients for MRCP/ERCP and surgical bile duct exploration,
• Techniques of both laparoscopic trans-cystic and trans-choledochal bile duct exploration, as well as laparoscopic biliary stent placement
• The role of near-infrared fluorescent cholangiography (NIRFC) to identify extrahepatic biliary anatomy,
• Amazing videos and discussion of challenging cases and alternative techniques.

An afternoon hands-on laboratory, including lunch, will provide practice performing flexible choledochoscopy, and laparoscopic common bile duct exploration, laparoscopic suturing and stent placement, open duct exploration techniques, and tips & tricks for difficult cholangiograms.

This course meets the guidelines as established in the "Framework for Post-Residency Surgical Education and Training" and is endorsed by the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
