Overview
This course is designed to improve the competence of clinicians who treat patients with musculoskeletal injuries through the application of acquired knowledge in the early recognition and successful treatment of patients presenting with various sports-related injuries to ensure maximum functionality and a return to activity/athletic endeavor.

Objectives
Objectives:

  1. Summarize the latest evidence-based recommendations for the treatment and management of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries
  2. Recognize and address injury incidence among soccer players based on playing surface, injury patterns and physiology that renders young athletes vulnerable to particular injuries
  3. Discuss management of acute shoulder injuries, including rotator cuff repairs/reconstruction and coracoclavicular ligament reconstruction
  4. Identify anterior and posterior instability of the shoulder and methods to stabilize
  5. Discuss clinical presentation and treatment options for ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) reconstruction, including biomechanics of internal constructs for repair
  6. Evaluate hip capsular closure techniques and clinical outcomes in hip arthroscopy
