While in the ED, the patient interacts with and is cared for by members of a healthcare team that includes physicians, nurses, advanced practitioners and administrators. Leadership in the Cedars-Sinai Emergency Department is committed to providing physician assistants, an increasingly important member of the healthcare team, with the education, guidance and support needed to excel in their roles in the delivery of safe, quality emergency care.

1. Apply knowledge of established and evolving evidence-based medicine to patient care in the emergency room setting
2. Work effectively with physicians and health care professionals as a member of a health care team to provide patient-centered care
3. Efficiently utilize medical information and clinical data systems to manage or access medical information, inform patient care decisions and provide effective and efficient patient care and support
4. Practice cost-effective health care and resource allocation that does not compromise quality of care in the ED

In support of improving patient care, Cedars-Sinai is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

AMA Credit Designation Statement
Cedars-Sinai designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Non-Physician AMA Attendance
Attendance credit will be provided to other healthcare professionals upon the fulfillment of attendance requirements. Participants should ensure in advance that their credentialing or licensing organization accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
