The “Pioneers in Medicine” interview podcast series will present short conversations with internationally recognized leaders, who care for patients at Cedars-Sinai, and will discuss advances in the field through path breaking research.

Keith L. Black, MD, the Ruth and Lawrence Harvey Chair in Neuroscience, believes the human brain gives us the essence of who we are, and that the capability of surgeons to treat patients has been revolutionized in recent years with the ability to access areas of pathology within the brain without disturbing its critical functions. In this “Pioneers in Medicine” interview, host Bruce L. Gewertz, MD, Surgeon-In-Chief, H&S Nichols Distinguished Chair in Surgery and Vice Dean, Academic Affairs, asks Black how he built an expert team of neurosurgeons who subspecialize in particular tumors to make sure patients receive the highest quality care and achieve the best outcomes possible
