This course is foundational to Cedars-Sinai's core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. As we work to create an environment of inclusion and belonging, and advance health equity, this education provides an opportunity to: understand how we process information and make associations and assumptions that can have an impact on patients, colleagues, and our culture of inclusion and belonging; and, provide our workforce with tools to mitigate and interrupt unconscious biases.

1. Understand concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion; bias in medicine, microaggressions, microinequities, cultural competence and humility, belief based bias, disability, and bystander intervention.
2. Demonstrate familiarity with the experiences of various social groups in relation to bias.
3. Recognize instances of inequity in their own workplace and community environments and take steps to mitigate biases and factors that contribute to inequities.
4. Reflect on personal experiences with bias and utilize this self awareness to actively advance individual diversity, equity, and inclusion journeys.

In support of improving patient care, Cedars-Sinai is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

AMA Credit Designation Statement
Cedars-Sinai designates this Enduring Material for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Non-Physician AMA Attendance
Attendance credit will be provided to other healthcare professionals upon the fulfillment of attendance requirements. Participants should ensure in advance that their credentialing or licensing organization accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
