The 23rd Annual Emergency Medicine Symposium: A Practical Update is a comprehensive one-day course designed to provide emergency medicine professionals with the latest advancements and best practices in critical care and emergency medicine. This symposium covers a wide range of topics crucial for delivering high-quality patient care in the emergency department setting.


Objectives
  1. Collaborate effectively with interprofessional team members to enhance communication, minimize distress, and improve overall quality of care.
  2. Identify and apply recent evidence based updates in the management of critically ill patients.
  3. Explore emerging trends, technologies, and models of care that are shaping the future of emergency medicine.
  4. Evaluate how innovations in systems design, diagnostics, and patient flow may influence clinical practice and healthcare delivery in the emergency department.
  5. Identify common factors that contribute to difficult patient encounters and assess their impact on communication, trust, and care delivery.
  6. Recognize the unique pharmacologic considerations and vulnerabilities of older adults in the emergency setting.
  7. Identify common and atypical medication side effects in geriatric patients and apply strategies to minimize adverse drug events and optimize safe prescribing.
  8. Assess the unique presentations and management considerations of pediatric patients in the emergency department.

  • All Other Healthcare Providers (In-person) - $175.00

In support of improving patient care, Cedars-Sinai is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

AMA Credit Designation Statement
