Overview
Join us for this continuing medical education (CME) activity focused on the latest advances in multiple sclerosis (MS) and NMOSD. Led by a panel of experts, this program will provide a dynamic and practical overview of the new diagnostic criteria for both MS and NMOSD, emphasizing how recent updates are transforming clinical decision-making. Participants will gain deeper insight into the new biomarkers incorporated into the MS criteria, including the central vein sign (CVS), paramagnetic rim lesions (PRL), and the use of optical coherence tomography (OCT) in diagnosis and prognosis. We will have case-based discussions, and a presentation by a member of the international panel that developed the updated MS diagnostic criteria, offering unique, firsthand perspectives on the rationale and implications of these changes. The program will also explore emerging therapeutic strategies for MS and NMOSD, including novel mechanisms of action and practical management considerations. This evidence-based course will blend expert lectures, panel discussions, and audience interaction to deliver clinically relevant insights that can be immediately applied in practice.

Objectives
  1. Recall the key components of the 2024 McDonald Diagnostic Criteria for multiple sclerosis.
  2. Recall the key components of the changes to the NMOSD criteria.
  3. Understand the correct use of OCT, Central vein sign and PRL in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.
  4. Develop appropriate treatment plans using disease modifying therapies for patients with multiple sclerosis.
  5. Assess the challenges and best practices in navigating the therapy startup process for MS and NMOSD patients.
