Overview
The 20th Annual Women and Ischemic Heart Disease Symposium will explore sex- and diversity-specific issues in womens cardiovascular health, featuring leading experts addressing the most current and clinically relevant topics. Highlights include a keynote lecture on the Need for Diversity in Clinical Trials and the Healthcare Workforce, as well as sessions on MINOCA: Advances in Understanding and Management, Statins and Lp(a) Drugs: Whats New?, and Managing Menopause with Comorbidities: National Recommendations and New Drugs. Engaging debates will challenge participants to weigh the role of lifestyle modification versus GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy in weight management and to examine whether presentations of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) symptoms truly differ between women and men. Case-based sessions will provide practical insights into complex scenarios, including invasive evaluation of HFpEF, invasive coronary function testing, and management of hypertension in postmenopausal and pregnant women. The purpose of this symposium is to close the knowledge gaps of physicians and allied healthcare professionals regarding sex- and gender-specific differences in cardiovascular disease, the impact these differences have on treatment options, and the importance of identifying women at risk. The program will provide the most up-to-date evidence-based strategies for optimizing care for women with ischemic heart disease.

Objectives
  1. Apply current evidence to the diagnosis and management of MINOCA in women.
  2. Evaluate the role of statins and emerging Lp(a)lowering therapies in lipid management for cardiovascular risk reduction.
  3. Integrate national recommendations and new therapies in managing menopause with cardiovascular comorbidities.
  4. Assess the benefits and limitations of lifestyle modification versus GLP1 receptor agonist therapy for weight management.
  5. Differentiate presentations of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) symptoms in women versus men to improve diagnostic accuracy.
  6. Demonstrate clinical decisionmaking through casebased learning, including invasive evaluation of HFpEF, invasive coronary function testing, and hypertension management in postmenopausal and pregnant women.
