Overview
The FY26 Inclusion Education course at Cedars-Sinai builds on the organization's legacy of compassionate, inclusive care by equipping staff with practical tools to foster respect, equity, and belonging. The course explores identity and intersectionality, inclusive communication, and the impact of unconscious bias on patient and workplace interactions. Participants learn strategies rooted in cultural humility and inclusive leadership. A final Health Equity Spotlight addresses social drivers of health and health literacy, emphasizing Cedars-Sinai's commitment to equitable access, clear communication, and community connection across every role and interaction.

Objectives
  1. Define key concepts of unconscious bias, intersectionality, and cultural humility, and explain how they influence communication, teamwork, and patient care in a healthcare environment
  2. Demonstrate inclusive communication skills, such as using biasfree language, affirming identity preferences, and applying frameworks to repair missteps and maintain trust
  3. Examine how social drivers of health and health literacy impact patient outcomes, and identify strategies to reduce inequities and enhance patient understanding across diverse populations
  4. Assess personal behaviors and workplace interactions to develop an action plan for embodying Cedars-Sinai's core values: diversity, respect, compassion, and teamwork in everyday practice
