Overview

This two-hour course, presented in a familiar news show format, is divided into brief, schedule-friendly episodes and features interactive videos and gamification to enrich the learning experience. Educational content explains the behaviors that are expected of individuals to create a workplace that is free of discrimination and harassment, discusses the responsibilities of supervisory employees, and examines several other relevant and timely harassment-related topics. This course was designed to comply with state requirements for supervisory-employee training. The total time required for completion is two hours.

Available to Cedars-Sinai physicians only.  Login to HealthStream required.

The course has an estimated completion time of 2 hours, and is designated for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

To access the course collection:

  1. Log in to your Cedars-Sinai HealthStream account. 
  2. Search the HealthStream Catalog for "Preventing Discrimination and Harassment - 2 Hour Course"
  3. Select the lesson and follow the prompts to "Enroll" then "Start"
  4. Credit is earned after completing the lesson; please allow 30 days for it appear on your transcript in the CME Portal.

Objectives
  1. Explain the nature of sexual harassment, discrimination, harassment and retaliation
  2. Identify the types of behaviors that are inappropriate in the workplace
  3. Apply knowledge of what should be done with an individual experiences misconduct
  4. Examine the consequences of misconduct
  5. Recognize the role of active bystanders and the methods of bystander intervention
  6. Utilize and encourage the behaviors necessary for creating a respectful workplace
  7. Summarize the special responsibilities of managers
  8. Respond properly to complaints
  9. Recognize the duty of managers to prevent retaliation
  10. List the protections provided by California laws

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation Statement
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center designates this Enduring Material for a maximum of 2.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
