Overview
The 20th Annual Cedars-Sinai Educational Meeting in Gastroenterology is a unique continuing medical education program designed to provide attendees with relevant information regarding new developments in gastroenterology and new approaches to the management of gastrointestinal diseases. A group of national experts, including several renowned guest faculty, will present new findings and guidelines in a clinical context that will be useful in your gastroenterology practice. Throughout the 19 years that this program has been offered, the Center for Digestive Disease at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has not only provided this important annual educational event, but has contributed significantly to the changes in how gastroenterology is practiced worldwide. This two-day conference is intended for gastroenterologists and all other healthcare professionals who treat patients with gastrointestinal disorders. In addition to lecture format presentations, the course will include the following interactive instructional formats: debate and panel discussions, Q & A sessions, case discussions, and interactive video presentations. We look forward to providing you with the latest advances and future direction in the multidisciplinary management of common, unique and complex gastrointestinal disorders.

Objectives
  1. Summarize determinants of IBD severity and prognostication and recognize the dermatologic manifestations
  2. Explore the latest developments in IBD treatment, including options for patients that stop responding to treatment
  3. Discuss interpretation of IBD serology, microbiome, and food allergy testing
  4. Review and discuss the management of anticoagulation in endoscopy
  5. Describe management of small intestinal and lower GI bleeding
  6. Analyze perioperative management of Crohn's disease and the role of stem cells in perianal Crohn's disease
  7. Discuss treatments for chronic pancreatitis
  8. Review what’s new in endoscopy and endoscope-related infections
  9. Review the literature of acute-on-chronic liver failure and treatments for alcoholic hepatitis and alcohol use disorder
  10. Discuss novel therapies in hepatocellular carcinoma
  11. Evaluate how to approach liver masses and review treatment options for hepatic encephalopathy
  12. Discuss how to approach fatty liver and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis
  13. Review diagnostic tools in constipation, nausea and vomiting
  14. Discuss diet in small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
  15. Review diagnosis and treatment of irritable bowel syndrome and the use of marijuana in GI motility disorders
  16. Review the latest updates in esophageal manometry

Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
