Overview
This conference will explore the challenges and opportunities for clinicians and healthcare professionals managing patients with Parkinson's Disease (PD). Parkinson's Disease is the 14th-leading cause of death in the United States. An estimated 1.5 million individuals have PD, with approximately 60,000 new cases diagnosed every year. To meet the needs of this patient population, this conference will bring together expert faculty with unique, multidisciplinary scientific and clinical backgrounds to update participants on recent advances in the multidisciplinary care approach, cognitive changes, medication management, deep brain stimulation and new devices. Other topics to be addressed include the importance of healthy sleep habits, managing depression and anxiety, emphasis of gait and balance and the influence of a developing a healthy lifestyle. 
Objectives
  1. Identify all non-motor symptoms and know the proper ways to address things such as sleep and constipation in PD patients
  2. Indicate the new definition and criteria for identifying patients with Parkinson’s Disease and utilize these for early detection and identification of symptoms
  3. Describe surgical approach for PD patients who are eligible for Deep Brain Stimulation
