Overview
This educational activity is specifically designed for healthcare professionals who treat patients with musculoskeletal injuries or who have an interest in sports medicine. Using a combination of live presentations, videos and case studies, expert faculty will share new clinical insights, technical advances and breaking research to provide participants with the latest diagnostic and treatment strategies for patients presenting with orthopaedic disorders of the knee, shoulder, elbow and hip. The goal of this activity is to assist clinicians in the early recognition and successful treatment of these conditions and allow patients the quickest return to sports participation.

Objectives
  1. Summarize the latest recommendations and research for the treatment and management of hip injuries
  2. Examine current and emerging techniques for ulnar collateral ligament repair and reconstruction
  3. Review evidence based treatment strategies for cartilage injuries in the knee.
  4. Discuss injury prevention strategies for ACL injuries.
  5. Evaluate biomechanical analysis of shoulder instability.
  6. Consider outcomes research for shoulder procedures.
  7. Incorporate interdisciplinary members of the healthcare team, including physical therapists, PAs, and athletic trainers in the management of patients with sports injuries.
  8. Examine potential of oral contraceptives in preventing injury in female athletes

In support of improving patient care, Cedars-Sinai is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
